Answer

What evidence does an ISO 42703 assessor ask for?

The bias profile with its version history, the stakeholder reference set with types and attributes, the data map with provenance and imbalances, the signed risk and impact assessment with the owner's acceptance, and the evaluation document with the monitoring plan. Each clause page on this site lists the specific artefacts.

Start with the profile and the stakeholders

The profile shows whether the work is a record or a snapshot. The stakeholder reference set shows the population the rest of the evidence is about. An assessor will ask for the version in force at the time of a decision, not the latest version alone.

Then the data and the risk

The data map, the metadata and the imbalance log show whether the data represents the stakeholders. The two risk inventories, the metrics and the signatures show whether the organization examined the harm and accepted the residual risk. The signature is on the assessment, not in a covering email.

Then the evaluation and the monitoring

The evaluation document has nine required items, from the metrics to the UI and UX check. The monitoring plan has the monitored items, the procedure, the recurrence rationale and the drift plans. The design evaluation and the ongoing evaluation are separate and both are required.

What an assessor does not accept

A certificate, a vendor attestation or a policy statement on its own. The standard has no certification scheme. The claim is the organization's, and the evidence is the record behind it.

Questions

How many evidence items are there?

The register lists 269 evidence lines across 67 clause and annex pages. The kit consolidates them into one working file so a team can assign an owner to each.

Do I need all of it for a small system?

The shall clauses apply to every system in scope. The depth can be proportionate to the system, but a missing clause is still a gap. Start with the scope and the profile, then work the path.

Can I use the kit as the evidence?

No. The kit is the register and the plan. The evidence is your record: your stakeholders, your data, your assessment, your evaluation. The kit tells you what to produce and gives you the columns to track it.

THE RULES THIS IS BUILT FROM

The rules this is built from

Read from the real rules, not invented. Every clause answer on this site points to the official rule behind it, so you can check any line yourself. The register holds 67 records, 269 evidence lines and 201 common failure lines. The dates come from the ISO record. The substance comes from the published IEEE edition behind the joint project.

ONE STAGE RECORD

No invented date

Stage 40.99 is recorded on 16 September 2026. The planning date is an estimate and is labelled wherever it appears.

The ISO draft text is not public and is not reproduced. Each record cites the published clause it comes from. Where the public record is silent, the page says so.
