Answer

When will ISO 42703 be published?

No publication date is recorded. ISO records stage 40.99 on 16 September 2026: the DIS is approved for registration as an FDIS. The approval and publication stages follow, but their dates are not on the public page. The 13 September 2027 date used here is a planning estimate, not an ISO commitment.

What is recorded

The ISO page records the designation, the committee, the ICS, the edition, the stage 40.99 and the stage date of 16 September 2026. It does not publish the draft text or state a clause-level change. Those are facts a contract or a board paper can cite.

What is derived

A derived date is computed from a recorded date and a stated rule. The site does not derive an FDIS ballot close, because the ISO page does not record the ballot length. It uses the normal stage path only to explain what comes next, not to assert a date.

What is estimated

The planning date of 13 September 2027 is an estimate. It starts from the recorded stage and allows the normal interval for registration, ballot, approval and publication. It is useful for planning and unsafe for a contractual deadline. The site labels it on every page.

What to watch

The stage record and the dates are what the change watch follows. A change to the stage, the stage date, the published IEEE edition or the estimate is emailed with the diff. The watch cannot see the unpublished text, and it says so.

Questions

Can I put the planning date in a contract?

No. It is an estimate, not an ISO commitment. A contract should cite the published IEEE source if it needs a dated edition, or name a review point rather than a publication date.

Why not use the FDIS ballot date?

Because ISO has not recorded one. The site does not invent a date to fill the gap. When the record changes, the refresh gate fails the build and the record is updated.

Will the ISO edition be identical to IEEE 7003?

The published edition supplies the substance, but the ISO edition adds the ISO foreword and conventions and may adjust terminology. The site does not claim that every editorial detail is identical, and it does not see the DIS text.

THE RULES THIS IS BUILT FROM

The rules this is built from

Read from the real rules, not invented. Every clause answer on this site points to the official rule behind it, so you can check any line yourself. The register holds 67 records, 269 evidence lines and 201 common failure lines. The dates come from the ISO record. The substance comes from the published IEEE edition behind the joint project.

ONE STAGE RECORD

No invented date

Stage 40.99 is recorded on 16 September 2026. The planning date is an estimate and is labelled wherever it appears.

Read the record

The ISO draft text is not public and is not reproduced. Each record cites the published clause it comes from. Where the public record is silent, the page says so.
